Advice & FAQ

What does NMG stand for?

NMG When referring to Ash shafts stands for 'non-maching grain' and this applies to two piece cues that have a joint in the length of ash(light wood), for the grain pattern to align when screwed together this would be reffered to as a 'matching grain cue' and generally more expensive to produce and therefore buy as they are assembled by hand. Ash cues have a strong grain in the wood which is highlighted with a dark pigment normally black but to the general eye a non maching grain goes undetected, the strenghth and performance of the cue is generally not affected in anyway.
